Frigidaire FFFR560
This fridge has the appearance of a luxurious appliance, but without its premium price tag. The counter-depth of this refrigerator lets you enjoy the built-in look for less than a custom-built refrigerator. It also does a good job of hiding the water dispenser and ice maker behind a false panel. This makes it appear more streamlined than models which display the appliances. However, it suffers from some minor design flaws that hinder it from being as effective as it could be.
The main issue with this Frigidaire is that it's counter-depth. This means it is unable to use about 7 cubic feet of usable space when compared to a Gallery refrigerator in the standard depth measurements. This is a huge sacrifice especially for a fridge that costs close to $3500.
Despite this, the fridge still does an excellent job of maintaining steady temperatures in its cooling and freezer compartments. It also performed well in our spill test by keeping water and other fluids kept in check even at the top of the shelf.
The Frigidaire is a fantastic choice if you want a French-door fridge with an enormous, adjustable flex drawer. It comes with a smudge-proof stainless steel finish, and its left door is smaller than the right making it easier to reach the controls. The flex drawer can be set to various temperature settings, which means it can be used as a cooler, a freezer, or for chilling drinks or wine.
The fridge is user-friendly, but not as intuitive as the other refrigerators that we tested. It features a digital panel with a simple design and offers many useful features. For instance you can flip the door bins from left to right, and there's the option to switch the freezer on in turbo mode for a quick burst of cold. It's also ENERGY STAR certified, meaning you can cut down on your utility bills by using this fridge. However, it lacks some convenience features, such as a temperature-controlled meat/deli bin and a light in the freezer. And its storage performance is just average.
